Bonhill
Purpose

Bonhill is a residential housing support project situated three miles from Dumbarton town centre. This property is owned by West Dunbartonshire Council and has operated as supported accommodation since 2003. The project is a partnership between West Dunbartonshire Council and Blue Triangle and its main purpose is to prepare service users for sustainable levels of independent living.
Service User Group
The service is registered with the Care Inspectorate for a maximum of 8 persons with the focus of work being vulnerable young homeless people aged 16 and over.
Accommodation and Facilities
The project has 8 bedrooms and shared kitchens, bathrooms and lounges, together with a laundry and staff offices.
Support Provision
On moving into the accommodation, each service user is allocated a Key Worker whose role is to assess, coordinate and review the housing support service provided. This involves regular weekly key work meetings, 6 weekly reviews and providing a link with other professionals.
In addition to the key work service the project also has regular service user meetings to discuss pertinent issues relating to the accommodation and support.
Moving On
Service users usually move on from the project to either Local Authority or Housing Association tenancies.
Staffing
The project is staffed 24/7 with a team consisting of Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager and Project Workers.
Referral Route
All service users are referred to the project by West Dunbartonshire Council’s homeless services.
