Holland Street
Purpose
Holland Street is a residential housing support project situated in Glasgow City Centre. This is a privately owned property, and since 1991 it has operated as supported accommodation for homeless people. The project is a partnership between Glasgow City Council and Blue Triangle and its main purpose is to provide direct access with support for homeless persons presenting to Glasgow City Council.
Service User Group
The service is registered with the Care Inspectorate for a maximum of 25 persons with the focus of work being vulnerable homeless people aged 18 to 35 years only.
Accommodation and Facilities
The project has 5 furnished flats, each containing a communal lounge and shared kitchen, shower rooms and laundry room. There is also a staff flat, with a number of rooms for office and general purpose use.
Support Provision
On moving into the accommodation, each service user is allocated a Key Worker whose role is to assess, coordinate and review the housing support service provided. This involves regular weekly key work meetings, 6 weekly reviews and providing a link with other professionals.
In addition to the key work service the project also has regular service user meetings to discuss pertinent issues relating to the accommodation and support.
Moving On
Service users usually move on from the project to either Local Authority or Housing Association tenancies although occasionally they move to the Association's own temporary furnished accommodation in Glasgow which has linked resettlement support provided by the Association’s floating support service in Glasgow.time.
Staffing
The project is staffed 24/7 with a team consisting of Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Project Workers and Cleaner.
Referral Route
All service users are referred to the project by Glasgow City Council’s homeless partnership.
