Renfrew
Purpose
Renfrew is a residential housing support project situated near Renfrew town centre. This property is owned by a Local Housing Association and has operated as supported accommodation since 2007. The project is a partnership between Renfrewshire Council and Blue Triangle and its main purpose is to prepare service users for sustainable levels of independent living.
Service User Group
The service is registered with the Care Inspectorate for a maximum of 18 families with the focus of work being vulnerable homeless persons aged 21 and over.
Accommodation and Facilities
The project has 17 flats, each containing an integral kitchen and bathroom facilities.
Support Provision
On moving into the accommodation, each service user is allocated a Support Worker whose role is to assess, coordinate and review the housing support service provided. This involves regular weekly meetings, 6 weekly reviews and providing a link with other professionals.
Moving On
Service users usually move on from the project to either Local Authority or Housing Association tenancies. In most instances, the project provides resettlement support, which due to resources tends to be one visit.
Staffing
The project is staffed 24/7 with a team consisting of Project Manager, Assistant Manager, Support Workers and Housing Assistants.
Referral Route
All service users are referred to the project by Renfrewshire Council’s homeless services.
