Paisley , Bruce Court
Purpose
Bruce Court is a supported accommodation project situated near Paisley town centre. This property is owned by Renfrewshire Council and has operated as supported accommodation for several years. The project is a partnership between Renfrewshire Council and Blue Triangle and its main purpose is to prepare young people for sustainable levels of independent living.
Service User Group
The service is registered with the Care Inspectorate for a maximum of 12 persons with the focus of work being vulnerable young homeless people aged 16 to 25 years.
Accommodation and Facilities
The project has 12 individual fully furnished flats, each containing living room, bedroom, fitted kitchen and bathroom. There is also a staff office on site where the Support Workers and Housing Assistants who staff the building are located on a 24/7 basis.
Support Provision
On moving into the accommodation, each service user is allocated their own Support Worker who role is to assess, coordinate and review the housing support service provided. This involves regular weekly key work meetings, 6 weekly reviews and providing a link with other professionals.
In addition to the key work service the project also has regular service user meetings to discuss pertinent issues relating to the accommodation and support.
Moving On
Service users usually move on from the project to either Local Authority or Housing Association tenancies. Support Staff can also provide ongoing support for a time once the move has been made.
Staffing
The project is staffed 24/7 with a team consisting of Project Manager, two Team Leaders, Support Workers and Housing Assistants.
Referral Route
All service users are referred to the project by Renfrewshire Council’s homeless services.
