South Ayrshire Floating Support

Purpose

South Ayrshire Floating Support is a non-residential housing support project with an office base in the Association owned property in Ayr town centre.  The project is a partnership between South Ayrshire Council and  Blue Triangle (Glasgow) Housing Association Ltd. and its main purpose is to assist people to sustain levels of independent living, in a variety of accommodation settings, including Local Authority temporary furnished accommodation, Local Authority tenancies and Bed & Breakfast establishments.

Service User Group

The service is registered with the Care Inspectorate with the focus being vulnerable homeless people aged 18 and over.

Support Provision

When a service user agrees to receiving a service from the South Ayrshire Floating Support team they will be allocated a Support Worker whose role is to assess, coordinate and review the housing support service provided.  This involves regular weekly casework meetings, 6 weekly reviews and providing a link with other professionals.
In addition to providing direct casework the service also delivers a drop-in information and advice service for vulnerable homeless people at their office base.

Staffing

The project provides a service 7 days a week from 8 am to 8 pm and is staffed with a team consisting of Project Manager and Support Workers.
