Wemyss House
Purpose
Wemyss House is a residential housing support project in Port Seton within a property owned by the Association. The project is a partnership between East Lothian Council and Blue Triangle and its main purpose is to prepare service users for sustainable levels of independent living.
Service User Group
The service is registered with the Care Inspectorate for a maximum of 7 persons with the focus of its work being vulnerable homeless people aged 25 and over.
Accommodation and Facilities
The project has seven bedrooms, one communal lounge and shared kitchens and bathrooms. There is also one staff office.
Support Provision
On moving into the accommodation each service user is allocated a Key Worker whose role is to assess, coordinate and review the housing support service provided. This involves regular weekly key work meetings, 6 weekly reviews and providing a link with other professionals.
In addition to the key work service the project also has regular service user meetings to discuss pertinent issues relating to the accommodation and support.
Moving On
Service users usually move on from the project to a range of accommodation options, including Local Authority or Housing Association tenancies and private lets. We can also assist to obtain private lets.
Staffing
The project is staffed with a team consisting of Project Manager and Project Workers.
Referral Route
All referrals to this service are made from East Lothian Council Homeless Services.
