1.1.      Advice and support

We provide advice and information to anyone who requests information from us.

This approach is in line with our equality and human rights commitments, as well as meeting freedom of information law and related guidance.

We provide requesters with advice and support about any of the following matters:

  • accessible services;
  • clarification about information requested; and
  • comments about our information scheme.

Accessible services

In the case of disabled people, we provide information in a range of formats, for example, in larger print and/or in audio-format.

We ask requesters to advise us of their accessibility requirements so that can make reasonable adjustments to address their needs, as appropriate.

Such information is processed wholly in line with data protection law and used only until the information request process has ended.

After this point, we destroy personal information securely.

Clarification about information requested

Before requests are made, we encourage requesters to contact us to discuss what they want.

This approach is very important as it can save requesters time looking for information.

Finally, by developing such a person centred approach, we believe that we can then provide accurate and clear information to meet requesters’ needs and preferences.

Comments about our information scheme

We encourage requesters to provide us with their views about our information scheme.

Any comments that are welcome to assist us as we are required to reviews our scheme from time to time.
