Community Achievement Awards

2015 sees the launch of a new partnership between Blue Triangle and Glasgow Kelvin College. We will be working in partnership to deliver Community Achievement Awards to our service users. This was an initiative which was created by the Community Learning team at the college and through discussions with them we realised these awards would fit perfectly with our service users and give them the flexibility they need that mainstream education routes don’t always allow.
We will let Craig Green (Head of Community and Information Services) explain the awards, after all he is the man behind it all……
The Glasgow Kelvin College Community Achievement Awards framework enables accreditation for the learning which happens through engagement with community activities (learning through involvement, assisting in delivery, delivery and development of community activities). The Awards support people through planning, implementation and evaluation stages of their engagement, and are at their most successful when delivered as a partnership between the organisation supporting engagement with community activities and the College (whose staff liaise with the partner throughout and provide assessment, verification and certification services for candidates when ready). The Awards framework has enabled the development of a partnership between the College and Blue Triangle Housing Association because of the supportive approach Blue Triangle takes with service users, including their involvement in the 40th year celebrations.
