SFHA parliament reception: ‘A Fairer and Healthier Scotland: the Housing Association Offer’
Last updated: 5.03pm, Wednesday 10th February 2016
The event, sponsored by Jim Eadie MSP, celebrated the SFHA’s 40th anniversary, highlighting its work and that of its members by focusing on raising awareness of the importance of good quality, affordable and energy efficient housing for all. It looked at the difference that good housing makes to people’s lives in terms of health and overall wellbeing.
We were fortunate enough to be invited to the event which took place on Tuesday 9th February. One of our young people from the Hamilton project attended the event to explain how important good social housing is to him, especially as Billy just moved in to his own flat in the Hamilton area last week. He was joined by John, a tenant of Bield Housing and Brian, a tenant of Dunedin Canmore (pictured).
Billy did an amazing job by telling his journey of how he ended up in Blue Triangle to moving in to his new flat.
Billy received wonderful feedback for having the courage to get up in front of so many people and speak. He is an absolute credit to the Hamilton project and all the staff there who supported him.
We are very proud of Billy. What a great ambassador for the Association! Thank you, Billy.
