Congratulations to our South Ayrshire project who recently won funding for their recovery oriented activities.
Our Chalmers Court project in South Ayrshire pitched to the panel of Ayr South Decides in October and found out last week that their pitch was successful for their £1000 funding bid.
Phyllis Lambert (Intense Support Worker) attended along with 2 service users and an ex-service user to explain their idea to the panel.
The project are starting two exercise initiatives - 'Walking with Attitude' group and 'Get Up and Go' gym group.
They explained that the 'release of endorphins create feelings of happiness and euphoria, adding to mental wellbeing and reducing stress." They hope to increase self esteem, confidence and social interaction with the groups.
The money will be used to buy appropriate clothing, footwear and gym memberships for the service users to allow them to experience a healthy lifestyle.
We wish both groups all the best and we look forward to regular updates!
